I can't believe that Ethan can actually ride that thing on his own! When we bought this four wheeler, we didn't think that he would be able to ride it for a couple of years. When he saw it he jumped up on it, and leaned to the one side so he could reach the pedal and he took off!!! Its hard to believe how fast he is growing! We are loving every moment of it!

Last week we went to visit Scott's grandpa and grandma's house in Virginia. Ethan had a great time playing out side, watching the cows...

On Friday we went to Washington to pick up Rex, Missy, and Devon from the airport. Then we all headed to PA to be with the rest of the family for a few days. We had a fun day at the park.

It was so much fun watching Ethan open gifts, and like most 10 month olds the paper and ribbon were his favorite things to play with.

After a month of being away from home. It feels so good to be home again! We started November by traveling to FL to be with Eric, Hannah, and Joseph. Scott then traveled to Georgia for business. Then we made it back home for a few days. While we were home we all got sick. Then we headed to PA for thanksgiving, and home again. No more traveling for three weeks. After traveling over 3,000 miles, our little guy is tired of being in a car seat.

There is nothing like being in or on the water on a hot summer day. Saturday Scott, Ethan, and I took our jet skies out for a spin, for the first time this summer. Uncle Tim, Aunt Barb, Will, Mom, Liz, and Nate met us with Uncle Tim's boat at East Fork lake. It was so much fun!

We Jarasats love the water. I think part of it is growing up in a country where water is scarce. One year when we were little, we were here in the states for the summer. Mom was with Hannah at the mall. As they were walking Hannah spotted a water fountain. Mom said Hannah took off running towards it screaming " AKABAH AKABAH" which means " THE RED SEA THE READ SEA".

This was Nate's first time to ride the jet skies by himself. This kid is good, even though he fell off 4 times! A bruise from hitting the handle bars on the waverunner.

Scott's love for flying draws us every year to the Dayton air show. This year we didn't know if we should take Ethan and sit in 90 degree weather. So we decided that Scott and my brother Nate would go up early in the morning, and Liz and I would take Ethan to mom's house, and then we would go up in the afternoon. Let me tell you, leaving Ethan was the hardest thing I had done in a long time. Before I had Ethan, I heard other moms say " I cried the first time I left my kids for a few hours." I would think what in the world is the big deal, its not like your leaving them forever!! I guess I ate those words. I ended up crying and I called mom every hour.

Saturday was Mom's and Nate's birthday party. It was a birthday to remember. We had an uninvited six foot snake show up, which Nate enjoyed chopping up with his machete. Friday night Scott and I decided to go camping at East Fork lake. It was so much fun sitting around the campfire, roasting hot dogs, and marshmallows. Ethan loved it too. He never fussed one time! The only bad thing was when Scott went to put air in the air mattress the pump wouldn't work, so we had to sleep on the hard ground. Besides that, we had a great time. We left Saturday morning to head to the Kennedy reunion.

Last weekend Mom came down to Cincinnati . She had Scott and I, Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Tim and Aunt Barb over for some delicious Arabic food! She made "Maqluba" It's made up of rice, chicken, tomato, cauliflower, potatoes, and of course, all the wonderful Jordanian spices!!! It was sooooooo good! I did forget to take pictures of the food. It's probably for the best . It would be to painful for my sister, Hannah, to see the food, and not be able to get some!! Sorry sis, wish you were here to share the food with us!!

Sunday was Ethan's first time to be in church. We had him dedicated to the Lord in the morning service. Bro. Eisenhart had the dedication service, along with Bro. Pilmore. Bro. Ryan sang "I want to be just like you". Both sets of grandparents, and great grandpa & grandma Kennedy stood beside us during the dedication. After the dedication we took Ethan downstairs to JR church to meet all the children. Thank you Bro. Jowers for taking the dedication pictures for us! Ethan Scott was born on Wednesday, March 5 at 12:25pm. The Lord really helped mom and baby. Ethan is 6lbs and 10ozs, 19.9inches long. We are so excited and thankful for the bundle of joy that God has sent to us!

Yesterday Scott and I went for my first ultrasound. It was so exciting to see our baby move all around, the tech could hardly get measurements, because the baby would not stay still. We also were very happy to also fine out that my due date is March 9th instead of the 25th!!!

After 53 hours of travel time, sixteen hours of layover, six airports, and seven plan rides, and five countries we are finally home!!
Our first night in Jordan we went to a wedding party for a relative. The next day went to a different relative's wedding. This picture is taken in front of the Church. Weddings in Jordan are a lot different than they are here in the states. The family usually has parties all week long before the wedding day. On the wedding day, the bride's family meets at the bride's house , and the groom's family meets at the groom's house. After the two families party separately for a few hours, the groom's family goes to the bride's family's house and to pick up the bride, and the two families head to the church. When they arrive at the church the two families dance, sing, chant about the bride and groom before entering the church. This is what everyone is doing in this picture.

This is the groom's house we went to before we picked up the bride from her house. We walked into this big house with about 100 people inside. I had to go and sit with the women, while poor Scott had to go in another direction and sit with the men. He did not know anyone except my uncle and my cousin, who could only speak a few words in English. I felt bad for Scott but he said he enjoyed it!!

This is a different wedding party that we attended. The family here was not allowed to have a large party because they had a recent death in the family.

June 5Th of this year was my dad's tenth year for being in heaven. Scott and I went up the mountain to visit his grave site. It was my first time to visit his tomb. When dad passed away and they took him to be buried, the women were not allowed to go to the burial site until the next morning at dawn. I did not want to go then, and every time we would go back to Jordan, I say I'll go next year, but I always chicken out. This year I wanted to go, so Scott insisted that we go first thing that week. His grave was dusty, but the words from Romans 8 (The last chapter that dad read before he went into surgery) " What can separate us from the love of Christ? Not even death can separate us from the love of God" were still visible.

Scott and I took a day to get away from all the business that needed to be done and went down to the Dead Sea. We had a great time. Scott loved it, because he float as long as he wanted to.

You can see all of the salt deposits on the rocks. The water has a lot of salt and minerals in it. That is what makes the water so dense so that all you can do is float to the top.

Ajloun castle was built in 1184 by a nephew of Saladin. It is located on a very high mountain, so they could see the enemy coming from any direction. To enter into the castle you have to cross a bridge, because of the moat they have around it. The walls are ten feet thick, and because of its design it always feels cool in there. The interior is full of rambling corridors and staircases. The castle has openings called "murder holes" through which boiling oil or pitch could be poured on any invader
Ajloun was part of the chain of castles which, using heliograph(a signaling device by which sunlight is reflected in flashes from a movable mirror), fire beacons, and pigeon post. Using this they could transmit messages from Damascus to Cairo within twelve hours.
The castle was to defend the land held by the Arabs from the Crusaders. Ajloun was desired and was never taken by the Crusaders. The Mongols in the 13th century occupied it for a short time but was shortly back in the hands of the original owners.

Happy 13th man!! I am soooooooooooo proud of you. I can hardly believe your 13!! It seems like yesterday we were calling dad in Jordan to tell him he finally got a BOY!! I know it's been hard putting up with three older sisters,trust me, it hasn't always been easy for us having a younger brother...You always wanted to wrestle (even though you knew you couldn't win), you also would always beg to go with us on our dates... It never failed every time we gave in and took you along,the minute we got home you would run to mom and spill the beans about our dates!! We are still glad you are our brother. I can't imagine our life without you! you are always kind and thoughtful, not to mention the funniest in the bunch!!

Ronald McDonald Youth Ministry

On Friday night, Our Youth Group went to the Ronald McDonald House. It is a ministry that involves cooking and serving a meal to families who have children with illnesses at Children's Hospital in Cincinnati. These are families who cannot afford expensive lodging and meals. Our Youth ministers once every month! We serve anywhere between 50-70 people. The young people really enjoy this ministry, and the people that are being served are always appreciative of the job well done! We are so proud of our youth group! Thanks guys!! Here are some pics of this past Friday night..

Crossing Over!

I have finally crossed over to the blogging world!! I have no clue what I am doing..so here it goes!! Since my husband is working LONG hours this week,I have decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to tone down lizzie's nagging and Hannah's complaining of never knowing what's going on..I have GIVEN IN and started my own blog!! Most of my posts will be about...my husband, my house (that is being remodeled), our Youth group, whom we love and adore, and our sweet-sometimes cranky- mostly vicious 85 pound wolf-dog:) She can be all of those,but we sure do love her!
